Supported through our Brooklyn Backs Brooklyn campaign, with matching grant funding to strengthen Brooklyn’s arts and cultural organizations.
Fosters a supportive, compassionate alternative for canners — people who collect empty beverage containers to then redeem for five cents each — to access redemption services that create pathways for their financial, social, and environmental empowerment.
Cultivates community with intergenerational gatherings in parks and gardens that invite older adults and neighbors to share mindfulness, poetry, music, and creative arts by celebrating the art of tea together.
Supports families across Brownsville through affordable housing development and early childhood programming, using public data and insights from local residents and businesses to improve the overall quality of life in the neighborhood.
Builds tenant power in Brownsville and East Brooklyn by organizing residents into tenant associations, supporting eviction defense, and advancing pathways to community homeownership that helps tenants fight displacement, secure repairs, and remain in their homes.
Provides therapy, case management, court advocacy, and restorative justice circles as well as everyday needs like groceries, haircuts, and daily-living support in a trusted drop-in space for young men affected by gun violence and incarceration.
Creates pathways to economic independence for women impacted by trauma and incarceration through digital literacy trainings, entrepreneurship programs, and career coaching.
Provides young people with marketable hard skills in STEAM like graphic and web design, and access to post-secondary education in order to achieve economic mobility and engage in community revitalization.
