Our Participatory Grantmaking

Grantmaking Advisory Council

Guided by our belief that those who are closest to the challenges are closest to the solutions, we center residents with lived experience and expertise as key decisionmakers in reviewing grant proposals, conducting site visits, and selecting nonprofits for funding. Brooklyn Org Spark Prize Committee

Each year, the Brooklyn Org Spark Prize Committee engages in a rigorous application review process, selecting finalists from a highly competitive applicant pool, and conducting interviews before selecting five nonprofits that will each receive the $100,000 “no strings attached” prize.

We deeply value the dedication of our committee members, whose  time, expertise, and partnership allow us to amplify organizations that are sparking critical change in our communities.
