Operates a community center and hub for grassroots organizing and education with programming that includes healing clinics, colllaborative art projects, concerts and film screenings, political teach-ins, language classes, and food distribution.
Provides Mexican and Latin American immigrants with a wide range of services spanning migrant rights, economic justice, mental health, and health and wellness, and encourages community organizing and civic engagement to help immigrants establish sustainable themselves socially and economically.
Builds community power through arts and culture by organizing artists, businesses, and neighborhood leaders into neighborhood-based cultural councils, delivering multilingual programming, festivals, and peer learning exchanges that support local artists and nurture creative and cultural ecosystems at a neighborhood level.
Builds collective power for immigrant communities by coordinating a statewide network of over 200 immigrant and refugee rights groups advancing campaigns for access to representation, expanded healthcare coverage, and lasting protections for Brooklyn residents facing rising enforcement and instability.
Supported through our Brooklyn Backs Brooklyn campaign to meet the moment, with a focus on protecting rights.
Equips young people to expand access to birth control and reproductive options in Brooklyn and statewide through legislative training, work on college campuses, and paid professional development that prepares them for public service careers.
Cultivates creative expression and leadership among Black youth and young people in historically underserved communities through spoken word and arts programming, mentorship, and scholarships that support personal and career growth.
Builds community in South Brooklyn through inclusive bike rides, free bike tune-ups and safety gear, and neighborhood events that connect cyclists while promoting safer, greener streets.
This grant is part of the Neighborhood Collective Impact Project, which provides funding for local nonprofit collaborations addressing concerns raised through Brooklyn Org’s annual Listening Tours and 2025 People’s Pulse survey.

The Bed-Stuy University is a collaborative project by Magnolia Tree Earth Center and Liminal that envisions a neighborhood-based platform for skill-building, housing stabilization, and cultural preservation. Responding to rising costs and displacement in Bed-Stuy, the project positions the Magnolia Tree Earth Center as the hub for this community-driven “university.” During this incubation phase, the initiative will engage youth and residents in developing foundational skills in spatial design, construction, real estate literacy, and experiential marketing, while building a network of residents, homeowners, and local businesses.
Organizes bus and subway riders to advocate for faster, more reliable, and affordable public transit, including campaigns to improve service and expand reduced-fare access for low-income Brooklynites.
Stages original theater and youth productions about East New York, centering BIPOC and LGBTQ+ voices through performances, festivals, and post-show community conversations.
