Supports low-income families and new parents to transition to parenthood through education workshops, a two-year in-house job training program, and basic parenting resources.
Provides cultural, linguistic, and trauma-informed social services to immigrants and refugees including adult education, youth enrichment, mental health counseling, and social service enrollment.
Provides access to and ownership of books, builds community, and creates a passion for learning in Brooklyn, aiming to increase the number of 100+ book homes for kids 0-18 in NYC. Bringing neighbors together through free events and literacy-based community programming, they partner with volunteers who bring books to places where they live, work, and play. Brooklyn Book Bodega collaborates with local educators, city officials, and community-based organizations to ensure that literacy is layered into social and family services.
Provides thousands of low-income families passes for unlimited free access to dozens of cultural institutions citywide—museums, history and science centers, zoos, and more—and hosts neighborhood “Culture Clubs,” where families can experience and create art, connecting with educators and artists.
Partners with youth to end dating abuse and domestic violence through preventive education, supportive services, legal advocacy and leadership development, and counseling.
Publishes community-led journalism for and about immigrants across New York City to advocate for immigrant rights through policy change, demands for accountability, and research.
Strives to minimize isolation and loneliness for people who are dying and facing the end of their lives alone by matching them with doulas who provide weekly end-of-life care.
Combines direct aid and maternal health advocacy to meet immediate needs and address systemic inequities impacting families in East New York, providing essentials like food, menstrual supplies, and diapers through their Diaper Bank.
Works to end wrongful convictions by advocating for policy reform, supporting exonerees and their families with casework, and building a fairer criminal justice system rooted in racial justice and equity.
Offers pathways to culinary careers for neurodivergent teens for through baking programs that blend STEAM learning, problem-solving, and building emotional resilience with mentorship and hands-on job experience.
