McCarren Dog Allies is a community-led organization dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean environment for North Brooklyn’s dogs and their owners. Our work bridges the gap between local pet parents and public resources through three primary initiatives: Public Advocacy & Government Relations: We serve as a dedicated voice for dogs in North Brooklyn, partnering closely with local government and the Parks Department to advocate for improved infrastructure, animal welfare, and the allocation of essential supplies. Stewardship & Maintenance: We mobilize a network of neighbor-volunteers to lead regular park clean-ups and safety improvements. By coordinating directly with city officials, we ensure the park remains a high-quality, sustainable resource for the community. Community & Rescue Support: We foster a connected culture of responsible pet ownership by organizing social events—such as pack walks, “Bark in the Park” outings, and community happy hours. Additionally, we leverage our local government partnerships to advocate for vulnerable dogs by hosting and promoting neighborhood adoption events. Our Mission: To provide a unified voice for North Brooklyn dog owners, partnering with local government to ensure our public spaces are safe, welcoming, and well-resourced for every dog.
