To strengthen the nonprofit sector of Brooklyn and support organizations at various stages of growth, Brooklyn Org is now accepting applications for microgrants. This funding will support organizations not yet eligible for our Strategic Grants or other prizes due to budget requirements; microgrants will support community-based organizations with budgets of under $100,000.

Community and neighborhood-based groups can now apply anytime of the year (see timeline below) for general operating support microgrant funding of up to $10,000 for one year.

Across all our grantmaking, we support organizations that advance racial justice and provide critical resources to BIPOC and other groups that have been historically disempowered and discriminated against across Brooklyn.

  • Organizations that engage volunteers and community members in their work, and are not solely the project of one person.
  • Are explicitly focused on racial and social justice.
