Hilary Ley Jager

Co-Founder of A Better Way (She/Her)

Hilary Ley Jager is a co-founder of A Better Way (“ABW”), a grassroots, non-profit organization that promotes sustainable transportation and transformative, environmentally-conscious infrastructure throughout New York City. ABW is a member of the Coalition for the BQE Transformation, which is advocating for a corridor-wide reimaging of the BQE that will create more public greenspace and reduce harmful pollution that disproportionately affects communities of color.  Previously, Hilary was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of New York, focusing on cybercrime and terrorism.  Her work was recognized by numerous awards including the national Director’s Award for Superior Performance. 

Hilary also served as a law clerk to the Honorable John Gleeson, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and was a litigation association at Davis Polk.  Hilary worked at the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project for three years prior to receiving her J.D. from Stanford Law School.  Hilary received her B.A. from Williams College.  She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and three children.  She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at Mt. Sinai. She joined Brooklyn Org’s Board of Directors in October 2021.
