Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy

Serves as a cultural hub for Black families in Central Brooklyn through Africana-centered arts education, rites of passage programming, and holistic youth development rooted in the traditions of the African diaspora.

IMPACCT Brooklyn

Builds and preserves affordable housing in Central Brooklyn through community development and tenant organizing, including developing new units and supporting resident-led associations that help long-term residents remain in their homes.

Supported through our Brooklyn Energy Initiative, a partnership with the National Grid Foundation, focused on energy affordability and housing stability.

It’s All Love Assisting Through Action

Distributes nutritious food through mobile pantry programs that remove transportation barriers and serve Brooklyn families, youth, and older adults with dignity, as a “pantry without borders.”

Neighbors in Action

Provides Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights community members with a hub where they can seek resolutions for interpersonal conflict and be connected with resources that promote safety, healing, and wellness, with programs that range from anti-gun violence work to youth services.

Project: Anti-Violence Workshops for Youth and Families in East Flatbush

This grant is part of the Neighborhood Collective Impact Project, which provides funding for local nonprofit collaborations addressing concerns raised through Brooklyn Org’s annual Listening Tours and 2025 People’s Pulse survey.

Nonprofit Partners: The Center for Anti-Violence Education and Flanbwayan Haitian Literacy Project

Neighborhood: East Flatbush; Flatbush; Prospect Lefferts Gardens

The Anti-Violence Workshops for Youth and Families is a public programming initiative led by the Center for Anti-Violence Education (CAE) and the Flanbwayan Haitian Literacy Project. The initiative provides Haitian youth and their families with workshops and tools focused on safety and violence prevention. Programming includes Empowerment Self-Defense workshops, safety trainings, and violence intervention and prevention sessions, as well as a year-long Peer Educators program that offers opportunities for connection, skill-building, advocacy, healing, access to mental health resources, and professional development.

Nonprofit Partners: MJR Love and PFLAG NYC

Neighborhoods: Brooklyn’s Community School District 13, including Brooklyn Heights, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and surrounding communities

The Teach Fabulous! Family Engagement Initiative will support the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ families, caregivers, and young people across District 13. Through workshops, caregiver support circles, and the development of culturally responsive resources, the initiative will help address isolation and strengthen support systems for Black and brown LGBTQ+ families. The project builds on existing work in schools to create safer, more inclusive environments for students and families.
