Now in its 5th year, the Long Play Festival brings music lovers from all over the world to Downtown Brooklyn this April 30 to May 3 for a community-oriented destination music festival, with the best of today’s adventurous music accessible to all.
Supporter Passes are still on sale, including exclusive Wednesday and Thursday night shows with goat (jp) in their New York premiere, Dirty Projectors, and Suzanne Bocanegra’s Rerememberer installation. Other highlights include the only New York sets of Oneohtrix Point Never’s latest album; Bang on a Can All-Stars playing a brand-new arrangement of the iconic Philip Glass album Glassworks; Julia Wolfe’s Pulitzer prize-winning Anthracite Fields with Trinity Choir; Steve Reich’s classic Sextet plus Electric Counterpoint performed live by 13 electric guitarists; the legendary Billy Hart Quartet; Blank For.ms with Jason Moran and Marcus Gilmore; and the US premiere of Kali Malone’s Does Spring Hide Its Joy ft.
