Brooklyn Org x Culture 12: “We the People” Limited-Edition Designer T-Shirt Collaboration

This fall, Brooklyn Org and Culture 12 are launching a limited-edition “We the People” T-shirt that celebrates Brooklyn and our collective power to make the borough a beacon of what’s possible.

The collaboration debuts October 15 exclusively at Brooklyn Made Store, ahead of the Brooklyn Org Changemakers Ball and its “We the People” theme. A percentage of proceeds will support Brooklyn Org’s work to mobilize resources for communities across Brooklyn.

Created by Culture 12 co-founders Chacon Johnson and Nicole Lavonne Smith-Johnson, the shirt offers a Brooklyn riff on one of the studio’s signature designs.

For Brooklyn Org and Culture 12, “We the People” is more than a phrase. It declares who Brooklyn belongs to and who will shape its future. The collaboration brings the Changemakers Ball theme to life by celebrating the Brooklynites who move the borough forward:

We the People of Brooklyn. We are the artists and advocates. The teachers and organizers. The entrepreneurs and caregivers. The neighbors and changemakers who believe in the potential of this borough—and in our responsibility to one another.

We believe diversity is our strength, culture is worth protecting, every neighborhood matters, and everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive. When our neighbors face challenges, we show up for one another.

A percentage of proceeds will support Brooklyn Org’s work to mobilize resources for communities across Brooklyn.

About Brooklyn Org

Brooklyn Org champions Brooklyn and serves as a platform for its people—bringing together residents, donors, businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders to build a stronger, more equitable borough.

At a moment when federal funding cuts, policy changes, and attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion are putting greater pressure on local communities, Brooklyn Org is calling on Brooklyn to invest in Brooklyn. We are mobilizing people across the borough to defend rights, protect families, preserve culture, and ensure that the community organizations Brooklynites depend on have the resources to keep showing up.

The “We the People” collaboration gives Brooklynites another way to be part of a movement: wear what you believe—and back the borough while doing it.
