City & State New York: The 2025 Black Trailblazers List

The Crain’s New York Business 2023 list of Notable Nonprofit Board Leaders recognizes individuals whose commitment to the public good inspires and elevates the city. They support organizations that help the disadvantaged, the incarcerated, the ill and communal causes such as the arts.
Board Co-Chair, Brooklyn Org
A managing director at Warburg Pincus, the global private equity firm, Harsha Marti is co-chair of the board of directors of Brooklyn Org. In this role, Marti works to ensure that the goals of the board are met, and was a co-leader of the organization’s recent strategic planning process, which aimed to substantially increase BKO’s reach and to create a new model for local philanthropy. In addition, Marti helped launch a pandemic response fund, Brooklyn Org’s largest community-supported emergency response, distributing millions of dollars to nonprofits across New York. He is also a member of the law board of the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and was a board member of South Asian Youth Action from 2005 to 2011.
