13.1 Miles for Brooklyn

On Sunday, April 26, Brooklyn Org runners will take on the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon, raising funds to support nonprofits and community-led solutions across our borough. Each runner brings their own story to the starting line, united by a shared commitment to Brooklyn.

Meet Casai:

From Philadelphia to Brooklyn, Casai has built a life shaped by movement, discipline, and community.

A graduate of Hampton University with a degree in Computer Science and Cybersecurity, she now works as a Technical Project Manager. But long before that, she was a runner. Casai has been running since she was 8-years-old, and that passion continues to ground and guide her today.

Now, she’s bringing that energy to the race—running not just for herself, but for Brooklyn.

“I’m choosing to run with Brooklyn Org because I believe meaningful, lasting change happens when communities are empowered from within,” Casai shared. “I want to contribute my voice, perspective, and commitment to strengthening the neighborhoods that have shaped my Brooklyn journey.”

When asked what Brooklyn means to her, the answer is simple: community.

“What I love about Brooklyn is the sense of community it brings,” Casai said.

On race day, that community will be right there with her—lining the streets, cheering her on, and showing what it means when Brooklyn backs Brooklyn.

Support Casai and Brooklyn Org’s runners as they take on race day and raise funds for the countless nonprofits running our borough.

Fuel the run. Fund the work.
