Brooklyn is home to diverse and thriving communities, including an expansive Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community: nearly 50% of New York City’s Pakistani population lives in Brooklyn, and a growing Bangladeshi population can be found at the intersection of the Kensington, Midwood, and Flatbush neighborhoods. Approximately 12.3% of the borough identifies as AAPI, making Brooklyn’s Asian American population the second largest in New York City after Queens’.

Brooklyn Org is proud to partner with organizations that are enriching the lives of Asian American Pacific Islander members of our communities, including:

1. Asian American Federation

Asian American Federation improves the well-being of the pan-Asian American community – especially older adults, small business owners, and immigrants – through research, policy advocacy, public awareness, and capacity-building for nonprofits.

Brooklyn Org trusted us to do right by our communities and this gives us the flexibility we need...and provides a much-needed lifeline when we need it most.

2. Council of Peoples Organization (COPO)

COPO assists low-income immigrant families, particularly South Asian and Muslim families, through immigration legal services, informative legal clinics, ESL & citizenship classes, and food distribution.

What makes Brooklyn Org unique is that they also give you assistance after giving you the money. They’ll call you in and show you what other things are possible.

3. Parent-Child Relationship Association

Parent-Child Relationship Association strengthens family relationships and promotes parent-child bonding through volunteer days, youth leadership programming, adult ESL classes, social service assistance, and a wide range of culturally competent programs.

The success of our programs wouldn't be possible without BKO’s invaluable support. Their impact truly resonates with all our volunteers.
