Elana joined Brooklyn Org in May 2024, bringing a passion for community-driven storytelling and racial justice. Born and raised in Prospect Heights, they are a third-generation Brooklynite who first connected with Brooklyn Org as an intern in 2021. Elana is a graduate of Brown University, where they studied Sociology, Religious Studies, and Data Science, and is especially interested in the ways storytelling, organizing, and philanthropy can help communities build power and shape the places they call home. At Brooklyn Org, they help tell the stories of the people, organizations, and communities making change across the borough. Outside of work, you can find Elana playing the drums, biking around Brooklyn, or trying once again to perfect their brisket recipe.
