Connie Sargent is currently an adjunct professor at the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University where she teaches English as a second language to foreign graduate students. She has also taught at Columbia University in the American Language Program, and spent many years teaching survival English to refugees at the International Rescue Committee. Prior to teaching, Connie was a product manager at General Foods, and then did PR and communications for Habitat for Humanity NYC.

She served for 5 years as Habitat’s Vice Chair of the Board. She holds a B.A. in Literature from Penn State, an MBA in Marketing from Columbia University, and a MATESOL from the New School. Connie and her husband, John, have lived in Brooklyn since 1992. They have two grown children. She joined Brooklyn Org’s Board of Directors in November 2019.
