Dear Partners,
It has been an incredible honor to guide the work that has led to this remarkable moment and transformation. Brooklyn Org represents a deepening of the work of Brooklyn Community Foundation to break down our sector’s traditional barriers and invites everyone to take a seat at the table.
In this report, we are introducing you to Brooklyn Community Foundation’s new era as Brooklyn Org. We’re continuing to transform local philanthropy to be truly community-led – both in the issues we address and the people who back them. As you read the following pages, I hope that our bigger, bolder approach is a resounding call to action to join us in building a better Brooklyn.
Of course, this exciting way forward did not fall into place overnight: It took a mighty village that is committed to championing Brooklyn’s diverse communities and truly believes in our mission and vision for racial justice.
I want to extend my utmost gratitude to our donors, fund partners, nonprofit partners, colleagues in philanthropy, and allies who lent their time and expertise to building this amazing vision for Brooklyn. I am particularly thankful to have the support of our fantastic staff, who’ve worked tirelessly to meet this moment, and our Board of Directors, who have demonstrated their faith and commitment throughout every step of this process.
