Brooklyn’s Generosity on Full Display This GivingTuesday

Four people smiling through a large frame with "Brooklyn Gives on Giving Tuesday" text, holding signs on the street in DUMBO, Brooklyn.

Brooklyn, you showed up in a big way this GivingTuesday. More than 2,700 neighbors have contributed $680,000 and counting to strengthen our borough through Brooklyn Gives, Brooklyn Org’s free end-of-year fundraising platform for local nonprofits.

In a year when organizations are facing deep strain, this collective generosity is fueling food access programs, immigrant support, youth development, older adult services, housing justice, environmental work, arts education, and so much more.

The momentum didn’t stop with donations. We’re excited to uplift the nonprofits that won this year’s Brooklyn Org $500 early-day and cause-based prizes— recognition that honors both their work and the communities they serve.

GivingTuesday Giving Boost Winners:

  • The National Fellowship for Black and Latino Male Educators
  • Fast Feet NYC
  • City Growers
  • Oko Farms
  • The Service Collective
  • Age Friendly Central Brooklyn
  • Access Justice Brooklyn
  • Brooklyn Youth Arts and Justice
  • Artichoke Dance Company
  • Pivot Partnership

We ranked Brooklyn’s most generous neighborhoods on GivingTuesday by unique donors per zip code.

Here’s which neighborhoods came out on top:

  1. Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, DUMBO & Vinegar Hill (11201)
  2. Gowanus, Park Slope, & South Slope (11215)
  3. Boerum Hill, Park Slope, & Prospect Heights (11217)

  5. Bedford-Stuyvesant & Crown Heights (11216)

When you give to one of the amazing organizations participating in Brooklyn Gives, you’re making a powerful difference for that cause and for the community it serves. Every dollar helps these local changemakers feed, house, teach, and uplift our neighbors.

Our 20 Spark Prize finalists are also eligible for a special $5,000 match from Brooklyn Org, and their momentum is building. These finalists represent some of the most visionary and innovative organizations in our borough, and every donation made to them on Brooklyn Gives is doubled until the match is met. If you want to amplify your impact this season, supporting a Spark Prize finalist is one of the strongest ways to do it.

And when you give to Brooklyn Org, you’re doing even more. You’re helping all of Brooklyn.

Your gift to Brooklyn Org strengthens the entire nonprofit network behind Brooklyn Gives, ensuring that every organization has the tools, training, and support they need to grow and serve our borough better.

From Bushwick to Bensonhurst, when Brooklyn backs Brooklyn, everyone rises. Join us this Brooklyn Gives and help our borough rise — together.
