Annie Cleary

Chief Development Officer (She/Her)

Annie Cleary is a mission-driven relationship builder with extensive experience mobilizing resources, cultivating partnerships, and advancing the work of nonprofits across New York City. She comes to Brooklyn Org from Partnership with Children, where she served as Chief Development Officer, leading fundraising, communications, and government relations for one of the city’s leading providers of trauma-informed mental health services and healing-based arts education, supporting more than 20,000 children and families each year.

Annie’s career has centered on strengthening community-rooted organizations and expanding access to opportunity. Before joining Partnership with Children, she expanded strategic partnerships at Empatico, a global ed-tech initiative of the KIND Foundation that helped young people build empathy. She also served as Director of Development at the Partnership for After School Education (PASE), overseeing all aspects of fundraising and donor relations and cultivating cross-sector partnerships to strengthen afterschool programs across New York City. Annie has additionally consulted with several Brooklyn nonprofits supporting mental health, the arts, and community well-being. She serves on the Board of Directors of Not Another Child, a grassroots organization dedicated to restoring healing and stability to families impacted by gun violence.

Annie is a graduate of The George Washington University, where she studied International Affairs and Anthropology with a concentration in Global Public Health, shaping the community-centered perspective she brings to her work. A proud Brooklyn resident, she lives on the border between Bed-Stuy and Clinton Hill. Outside of work, Annie is often planning her next scuba diving adventure, chasing live music across the city, and happily doting on her baby nephew.
