Brooklyn Backs Brooklyn: Market & Community Update

Last week, Brooklyn Org hosted a conversation on how ongoing federal policy changes are impacting the state of the financial markets, the lives of our neighbors across the borough, and how we are standing in the gap for our communities. This financial market and community update featured presentations from Brooklyn Org’s external investment advisor Pathstone, as well as leaders of Fort Greene Park Conservancy and Weeksville Heritage Center. Watch the conversation below.

Our speakers included:

  • Michael Gillespie, Co-Chair, Board Of Directors, Brooklyn Org
  • Dr. Jocelynne Rainey, President & CEO, Brooklyn Org
  • Nicole G. Epps, Chief Operating & Financial Officer, Brooklyn Org
  • Rob Sawyer, Managing Director, Pathstone
  • Victoria Alvarez-Arango, Director, Pathstone
  • Alayja Reynolds, Senior Associate, Pathstone
  • Sabrina Hargrave, VP of Programs, Brooklyn Org
  • Dr. Raymond Codrington, President & CEO, Weeksville Heritage Center
  • Rosamond Fletcher, Executive Director, Fort Greene Park Conservancy

Brooklyn Backs Brooklyn

Brooklyn Org’s Brooklyn Backs Brooklyn campaign aims to raise $5 million for Brooklyn over the next year, in order to increase our grantmaking to local communities by 25%—support that aims to address urgent needs, advance racial justice, and ensure no Brooklynite is left behind. We are meeting the moment with urgency, intention, and care. Contact giving@brooklyn.org to explore ways to give.
