The Road Ahead
At Brooklyn Org, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the organizations, leaders, and activists across our borough who have a clear, bold vision for the future. These are the people who will continue to fight not just to preserve what we’ve gained, but to push our communities forward toward greater equity and justice. In the face of uncertainty, we are committed to supporting them every step of the way.
Dear Partners,
The result of the election is already being deeply felt across our communities, and the ripple effects will continue to shape our work and the lives of those we serve for the foreseeable future. The stakes are high, and the challenges we face are immense. Yet, as I reflect on the road ahead, I am reminded of one essential truth: I am deeply grateful to be part of—and to work for—a community where the support and care we offer one another are built on the strong foundation laid by Brooklyn nonprofits.
This moment is both sobering and motivating. As the needs of our communities grow more urgent, the role we all play in delivering vital services will become even more critical. At the same time, the progress we’ve fought for is vulnerable. We know the work ahead will be difficult, and at times it may feel overwhelming—but it’s also more important than ever.

This is why the call to “Show Brooklyn Some Love” feels especially urgent right now. Love, in this context, is not just an abstract idea; it’s something we practice in tangible ways. Sometimes, it’s the simple act of listening—being present for one another, understanding the challenges we face, and working together to find solutions. In these moments, showing up for each other and remaining connected is crucial.
So, I encourage you to reach out—let’s be in community with one another, fostering dialogue and strengthening the bonds that will carry us through the challenges ahead.
Thank you, as always, for being part of the Brooklyn Org family. Your partnership, your dedication, and your care are invaluable. Together, we will face the future with resilience, unity, and a shared belief in a more fair, just, and inclusive Brooklyn.
With gratitude and solidarity,
Dr. Jocelynne Rainey
