Pix11: National Grid Foundation Donates $112,500 To Brooklyn Organizations

Start the New Year with gratitude: Nominations for the 2024 Just Brooklyn Prize are open until January 19th — submit yours today!
Presented by Brooklyn Org in partnership with The Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation’s Social Justice Fund — the annual Just Brooklyn Prize awards $100,000 in total to five outstanding BIPOC leaders working tirelessly for change across Brooklyn’s communities.
Just Brooklyn Prize winners receive $20,000 each — with no strings attached — in gratitude for their exemplary commitment to racial and social justice in the borough. Winners will be chosen by a selection committee of distinguished Brooklynites, and announced in September.
We know that so many Brooklynites work every day to fix the inequalities in our economy and our society, without seeking or expecting any reward for their efforts. We also know that simply recognizing and celebrating their contributions can be a powerful symbol of change.Dr. Jocelynne Rainey, President & CEO of Brooklyn Org
The Just Brooklyn Prize is for leaders who identify as Black, Indigenous, or other people of color who have made a profound impact on Brooklyn. You can nominate yourself, friends, family, or colleagues, or even just someone you admire. You can also nominate as many people as you like!
