We are excited to announce the 20 nonprofits advancing in consideration for the 2025 Brooklyn Org Spark Prize, which celebrates the work of long-stranding local organizations championing racial justice across issues and communities in our borough.

Five winners will be announced in January, with each receiving $100,000 to be used however they need, and will be honored at our Spark Breakfast event in late February.

This year’s finalists are:

  • The Alex House Project
  • Brooklyn Book Bodega
  • Brooklyn Rescue Mission Urban Harvest Center
  • Brooklyn Queens Land Trust
  • Brownsville Community Culinary Center
  • Community Help in Park Slope (CHiPS)
  • Extreme Kids and Crew
  • Good Call
  • Footsteps
  • I Am Caribbeing
  • Little Essentials
  • The Marcy Lab School
  • Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow
  • ¡Oye! Group
  • Red Hook Art Project
  • Reel Works
  • RETI Center
  • Sakhi for South Asian Survivors
  • Street Vendor Project
  • Technology for Families in Need

Our Brooklyn Org Spark Prize Committee—made up of Brooklyn leaders, nonprofit workers, and community members—gathered earlier this month to share their reflections on this year’s applicants and worked together to pick the 20 finalist organizations.

As finalists for the 2025 Brooklyn Org Spark Prize, each organization will receive up to $5,000 in matching funds through our Brooklyn Gives on GivingTuesday campaign, which encourages Brooklynites to discover local nonprofits and give where they live on the year’s biggest day of giving.

Help us congratulate this year’s finalists! We’re so grateful to be able to support their amazing work and dedication to Brooklyn’s communities.
