Nominations for the 2024 Just Brooklyn Prize are now open through January 19, 2024! Submit the names of unheralded BIPOC leaders driving change in your communities to be considered for one of five $20,000 prizes, presented by the Social Justice Fund in partnership with Brooklyn Org.

Winners will be chosen from a committee of celebrated Brooklynites and honored at a ceremony at the Barclays Center in September 2024.

Brooklyn Org and the Social Justice Fund launched the Just Brooklyn Prize earlier this year, with nearly 1,000 nominations narrowed to five incredible Black women leaders:

  • Debra Ack, Founding Member, East NY Community Land Trust
  • La’Shawn Allen-Muhammad, Executive Director, Central Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation
  • Samora Coles, Founder, Alex House Project
  • C. Zawadi Morris, Founder, BK Reader
  • Chanel Porchia-Albert, Founder, Ancient Song Doula Services

The Just Brooklyn Prize builds on the Social Justice Fund’s previous investment in the national Black Voices for Black Justice Fund and Brooklyn Org’s Spark Prize for Brooklyn nonprofits.
