Nonprofit Board Engagement: Our Upcoming Training Series
If every successful movement begins with the story, its next chapters are wholly shaped by its people. Powerful movements and the organizations that most shape our communities all have one thing in common: they have the right support team in place. After wrapping an exciting few weeks of Capacity Building at Brooklyn Org where we took an in-depth look at the components of compelling storytelling, we’re looking ahead to our next impactful series: Board Engagement. On paper, Nonprofit Boards have three basic responsibilities.
- Oversight of the Executive Director
- Fiduciary Responsibility of the nonprofit
- Fundraising
In reality, we know that the Board is much more than that. Boards can be a lifeline, a bridge, or a hurdle, all depending on how they operate (or don’t operate).
Over the next few weeks, I invite you and your Board to join our nonprofit Board Engagement Training Series at BKO. We’ll explore topics like recruitment, governance and fundraising, and why they matter. RSVP below, and as always, check out our nonprofit resources page for more upcoming trainings.
