Brooklyn is home to nearly 30% of the city’s nonprofits, but a report by CUNY finds they receive less than 8% of city funding.

In an effort to support organizations across the borough, Brooklyn Org has invested more than $4 million to help racial and social justice groups grow and better serve their communities.

On Wednesday, Brooklyn Org named their 2024 Spark Prize recipients, awarding five nonprofits with $100,000 to continue their work.

Brooklyn Org’s CEO Dr. Jocelynne Rainey joined “News All Day” Wednesday to talk about this year’s recipients.
