amNY Op-Ed | New Yorkers Know Quality Of Life Comes From Care And Community, Not More Policing

The Brooklyn Org Changemakers Ball is more than a party—it’s a special celebration that brings together champions for Brooklyn from every neighborhood, to raise critical funds for our communities.
This year, with the theme Brooklyn Backs Brooklyn, we’re responding with urgency to meet the moment and stand up for our neighbors when they need us most.
The Brooklyn Org Changemakers Ball gets bigger and better every year, and October 29 will be no exception. We’re excited to announce that The Lay Out will be providing the soundtrack to every moment of the party!
Known for curating some of Brooklyn’s most vibrant, unapologetic celebrations of Black joy and collective power, The Lay Out, concepted by Emily Anadu, has become a cultural force in the borough. Their legendary Juneteenth events in Fort Greene Park bring their Joy Ecosystem to life as a love letter to Brooklyn’s soul—full of music, movement, and meaning.
Now, they’re bringing that energy to our dance floor at our new venue, the immersive tech-enhanced ZeroSpace in Gowanus.
Sponsorships and tables are moving fast, and your support of Brooklyn is critical in this moment.
